Description

Jagannath Balabhadra Subhadra Sudarshan Murti with Wooden Singhasana

Bring the sacred presence of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Sudarshan into your home with this traditionally handcrafted Jagannath Murti set in pure Neem wood, created in Puri by Vishwakarmaa Creations.

The complete Chaturdha Murti set is accompanied by a handcrafted wooden Singhasana, creating a complete sacred arrangement for your home temple, puja space or spiritual setting.

Every murti is created individually by our Vishwakarmaa family through a slow and detailed traditional process.

There is no mass production, no factory-made stock and no shortcut in craftsmanship.

Your murti begins its journey only after your order is received.

The Sacred Chaturdha Murti

The set represents the four divine forms traditionally worshipped together:

Lord Jagannath
Lord Balabhadra
Devi Subhadra
Sudarshan

Together, these four forms are known as the Chaturdha Murti.

Each deity is individually shaped, prepared and hand-coloured, while maintaining the distinctive traditional appearance associated with Mahaprabhu and His divine siblings.

Handcrafted from Pure Neem Wood

The foundation of every deity begins with pure Neem wood.

Rather than using unspecified substitute woods, our family carefully works with Neem wood to create the traditional form of the deities.

The wood is manually carved and shaped before progressing through the different stages of preparation.

Every curve, arm, facial form and body structure is individually worked by hand.

Traditional Temple-Style Form

Our focus is on maintaining the traditional rounded temple-inspired form of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra rather than producing simplified rectangular souvenir-style figures.

Their iconic expressions, large sacred eyes, open arms, colours and distinctive forms are carefully created to preserve the visual character of the Jagannath tradition.

Because every murti is handmade, slight variations in shape and detailing are natural and make each set unique.

Wooden & Bamboo Jointing — No Metal Nails

An important part of our craftsmanship is how the hands and wooden components are joined.

Instead of metal nails, we follow traditional methods using bamboo or wooden locking and wooden nails.

This process requires additional time and skill, but it preserves the character of traditional Daru craftsmanship that is central to how we create our Jagannath Murtis.

Traditional Shaptabaran Process

After the wooden forms of Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshan are completed, they undergo our traditional Shaptabaran process.

The preparation is performed through multiple stages before the final appearance of the deities is created.

The traditional layering represented in our craftsmanship includes:

1. Neem Wooden Form
The carved wooden body forms the foundation of the deity.

2. Chhāchi Patta
Traditionally applied as part of the layered preparation.

3. Sal Wood Resin & Sesame Oil Preparation
Used within the traditional coating process.

4. Neta Patta
Another traditional stage of preparing the deity.

5. Sandalwood, Camphor, Musk & Kumkum Preparation
Applied as part of the traditional surface treatment.

6. White Cloth Layer
Added as another important layer of preparation.

7. Khaduā & Sandal Preparation
Forms the final prepared surface before colouring and detailing.

This detailed process is one of the key reasons our handcrafted Jagannath Murti sets require considerably more time than ordinary commercially produced wooden idols.

Banaka Lagi — Traditional Hand Colouring

After Shaptabaran, each deity enters the beautiful stage of Banaka Lagi.

Lord Jagannath’s black form, Lord Balabhadra’s white form, Devi Subhadra’s yellow form and the sacred details of Sudarshan are individually completed by hand.

The eyes, tilak, facial expressions, ornaments, garments and decorative elements are carefully painted one by one.

There is no printed face or machine-produced finish.

Every stroke is created by hand.

That means every Jagannath Balabhadra Subhadra Murti set carries its own individual expression and handmade character.

Handcrafted Wooden Singhasana

The complete set is provided with a wooden Singhasana, creating a beautiful and dignified setting for Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshan.

The Singhasana complements the traditional appearance of the Chaturdha Murti and helps create a complete arrangement for:

Home Temples
Puja Rooms
Spiritual Spaces
Temple Installations
Devotional Displays

Together, the Neem wooden murtis and wooden Singhasana create a complete sacred centrepiece for darshan and worship.

Made Only After Your Order

At Vishwakarmaa Creations, we do not believe in producing Mahaprabhu’s murtis in bulk and keeping them as ordinary warehouse stock.

Every Jagannath Murti is made to order.

After receiving your order, our family begins the process of creating your Chaturdha Murti individually.

During the journey, step-by-step photographs can be shared with you, allowing you to witness the transformation from Neem wood into the completed divine forms of Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshan.

You do not simply receive the finished murti.

You witness its journey.

Created Through Seva, Not Mass Production

For our family, creating a Jagannath Murti is not simply the manufacturing of a decorative wooden object.

It carries the responsibility of generations of craftsmanship and devotion.

Every deity passes through the hands of our family.

Every form is carved individually.

Every layer is prepared patiently.

Every eye is painted by hand.

Every detail takes time.

And every completed Chaturdha Murti leaves our home in Puri to become part of another devotee’s sacred space.
